I had no interest in fishing until I was 42. Blame my dad for making me hold a fish I caught when I was 5! LOL!
I started saltwater fishing in 2016 out of a 10′ paddle kayak from Academy, but didn’t truly get into the sport until I got my first Hobie Compass in 2017. Since then, I have continuously improved my skills, consistently fished in tournaments and have begun teaching other women.
As avid anglers on the Texas Gulf Coast, my husband & I created Couples Yak Fishing Texas on Facebook in 2019, and I created Saltgrls Facebook group in 2021 to get more women interested in the sport. I’ve had the honor of representing the Fin Factory Fishing Team since 2022 as their first female team member, I pro-staff for a few companies, have won some tournaments, placed in a few, and will keep on doing this kayak angling thing for as long as I’m able. I’m also super stoked to be back for another year on the Hobie Fishing Team!!
