John Hostalka is the definition of a multi-species angler. “Fishstalka” enjoys chasing everything from fresh to salty species, from big Florida Bass to Bull Redfish, Cobia and King Mackerel. He has been drawn towards water since he was first born. He grew up in, on and around the ponds, creeks, rivers and reservoirs of upstate South Carolina. Since then, he’s come to call the unique waterways of the Chesapeake Bay region his home. He fishes, camps and practically lives out of his Hobie Outback and has done so for the last 10 years. He has been a member of the Hobie Fishing team since 2016. He is a contributing writer to publications such as KayakAngler, On the Water, and FishTalk magazine. He participates in local and regional fishing tournaments and has kayaked the length of the Chesapeake Bay, solo and self-supported. This summer he plans to do another kayak fishing adventure along the sound of the outer banks of North Carolina.
