With 21 years of Active-Duty service in the US Coast Guard I have had the opportunity to fish all across the U.S., the Caribbean, as well as the Central and South American coasts.
Although I have fished bass tournaments for the past 35 years, I have been competing in kayak tournaments since 2010 exclusively from Hobie kayaks.
Living on the West coast, in Northern California, makes fishing the National trails difficult due to the amount of travel required. However, I have qualified for two Hobie Bass Open Series Tournament of Champion events by placing 3rd at Lake Guntersville in 2018, and by winning the Mississippi River event in Lacrosse, Wisconsin in 2021.
Locally, I compete in the Yak-A-Bass tournament trail in California. This is the largest kayak club on the West coast and is a club that I cofounded in 2015.
