2025 Hobie Fishing Team Levels – Two Tiers in 2025
Local Team Members:
- Handpicked by local dealers and fully dealer supported.
- Approved by the Hobie Team Manager and featured on the HFT website and social media channels.
- Local Team members focus on driving sales in their dealer’s market through credibility, expertise, and engagement.
- All Local Team members must use MY2025 products unless otherwise agreed upon with Hobie.
Pro Team Members:
- Selected by the Hobie Fishing Team Manager in conjunction with the dealer and Hobie marketing.
- Dealers to assist with kayak provision. (Contact Steve Fields for details)
- Team members will leverage their credibility, expertise, and customer engagement to boost Hobie kayak sales.
This updated structure strengthens partnerships between Hobie, the dealers and anglers, ensuring consistent support, increased visibility, and enhanced market presence for the Hobie brand.
2025 Local Member Teams Dealer Overview – North America
This tier is exclusively affiliated with an approved Hobie Dealer and is entirely dealer-supported.
Program Details
- Candidate Recommendation and Approval
- Dealers recommend candidates to Hobie for the Local Hobie Team program. Hobie suggest a maximum of three anglers per dealership.
- Hobie will vet dealer candidates based on their social media presence, websites, blogs, and reputation within the fishing community.
- Dealers are not restricted from supporting additional dealer-based teams outside of the Hobie Team program and are encouraged to create as many teams as necessary for regional dealership success.
- Primary Responsibilities
- Anglers in this tier will actively support the Hobie brand while focusing on driving sales to their assigned dealer(s).
- Event Participation
- Anglers will assist dealers with Hobie demos, social events, seminars, fleet sales, and other dealer-focused activities.
- Annual Renewal Process
- The program does not offer automatic renewals. Dealers must re-nominate candidates, and anglers must reapply each year.
- Year in Review Submission
- Anglers are required to submit a Year In Review report, which will be facilitated through online forms provided by the Hobie Team Manager.
Dealer Obligations
- Kayak Provision
- Dealers must provide at least one (1) current model year Hobie Kayak (MY2025) for use by team members. This kayak must serve as the angler's primary fishing kayak during the agreement term. All product arrangements are exclusively between the dealer and the angler; Hobie is not involved in these agreements.
- Parts and Accessories Discounts
- Dealers agree to offer team members a discounted price on all Hobie parts and accessories for personal use throughout the season. The discount terms must be mutually agreed upon by the dealer and the team member.
This program fosters a strong partnership between Hobie, its dealers, and anglers, promoting brand loyalty while supporting regional sales and marketing efforts.
Hobie Local Team Member Expectations
For 2025, the expectations for anglers applying for Hobie Local Fishing Team status have been redefined. In return, Hobie will enhance its promotion of both the angler and their associated dealership.
To qualify, individuals must meet the following expectations:
- Event Representation
- Participate in events representing the sponsoring dealership, including trade shows, consumer shows, product demonstrations, water demos, social events, clinics, and Hobie online events or seminars upon request.
- Social Media Presence
- Maintain an active presence on multiple social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, and/or YouTube.
- Marketing Collaboration
- Provide digital assets for marketing that feature Hobie Fishing Kayaks. Allow Hobie or the dealership to mount cameras on kayaks for digital asset collection. Ensure all on-water photos clearly show a Personal Flotation Device (PFD); using a Hobie-branded or dealer-supplied PFD is strongly recommended.
- Promotional Opportunities
- Notify Hobie if potential partnership opportunities arise, such as including Hobie products in promotions or contests with the angler's other sponsors.
- Educational Contributions
- Conduct or assist with clinics, demonstrations, or presentations focused on kayak fishing.
- Market Presence
- Boost the dealership’s market exposure through Hobie product promotions, displaying dealer insignia, word-of-mouth advertising, and sharing dealer and Hobie content on social media or websites.
- By meeting these expectations, anglers strengthen their partnership with Hobie and their dealership, creating greater opportunities for mutual growth and success.
- Integrity
- Anglers must represent Hobie with the highest level of integrity. Actions that harm, diminish, or call into question the Hobie brand will be considered a material breach of this agreement. Hobie reserves sole discretion in determining violations, and no cure period will apply in such cases.
- Social Media
- Anglers must actively and positively promote the Hobie brand and its products at least twice per month on each of their social media accounts.
- Upon reasonable request, anglers must support Hobie’s marketing campaigns through their social media channels.
- Hobie-approved hashtags and mentions, tailored by region (North America and International), will be provided to team members.
- Digital Content
- Anglers must prominently feature Hobie products in their digital photo and video content, including on social media platforms.
- Logo and Positioning
- Anglers must provide logo placement on their tournament tow vehicles, tournament kayaks, and tournament jerseys when applicable. Hobie or the dealer may supply Hobie Fishing decals if available.
- Hobie Kayak Logos
- Factory-installed Hobie hull logos (port and starboard mid-ship and aft) must remain visible and in their original positions. If the kayak is wrapped, the logos must be displayed in the same location, dimension, and color.
- Representation
- Anglers will represent Hobie by using, teaching, and discussing Hobie products at tournaments, promotional events, seminars, podcast & blogs or approved social media.
- Hobie and its dealers should be mentioned in print, radio, television programs, articles, podcasts, social platforms, or testimonials whenever possible.
- Anglers are prohibited from promoting other kayak brands or competitive products while on the Hobie Fishing Team.
- Only kayak dealerships that sell Hobie products may be promoted. Any promotion of non-Hobie dealers or their product lines will result in removal from the Hobie Fishing Team.
- Apparel
- Anglers are requested to wear Hobie Dealer fishing apparel at all fishing-related events or as agreed upon by the dealer.
- During tradeshows, seminars, product demonstrations, or other approved events, anglers must wear Hobie Dealer team shirts or jerseys or as agreed upon by the dealer.
- Hobie Fishing Team Merchandise 2025
- Hobie is working with industry partners to resume traditional “swag” packages. While this initiative is currently on hold, progress is being made to provide team gear when and if possible, in 2025.
- Term
- The program term begins in February 2025 and ends on August 1, 2025.
- Renewal – 2025
- No automatic renewals are offered. All anglers, regardless of prior status, must reapply via their local Hobie dealer. Dealers have the first opportunity to nominate anglers or help establish new partnerships with Hobie.
- Acknowledgment
- Approved Local Hobie Fishing Team members will gain increased exposure through Hobie’s Fishing Team portal, social media posts, print materials, and other marketing programs. Features may include profile photos, names, and recognition of the local dealership the angler represents.
- Indemnification
- Anglers agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Hobie, its affiliates, officers, directors, agents, and employees from any third-party claims, lawsuits, damages, or liabilities arising from actions related to this sponsorship or breaches of the agreement. This includes covering reasonable attorney fees and settlement costs.
Hobie and Angler agree to maintain the confidentiality of the terms of this Agreement, except as expressly provided herein. For the purposes of this Agreement, "Confidential Information" refers to proprietary and confidential information regarding the disclosing party's (or its suppliers') business activities. This includes all business, financial, technical, and other information that is either marked or designated as "confidential" or "proprietary," or which, by the nature of its disclosure, ought to be reasonably understood as confidential. In Witness Whereof: The Parties have executed this Agreement as of the date application.
Content Release
Hobie, its authorized dealers, partners, and current or future licensees are granted the right to use the Angler’s promotions, likeness, image, and testimonials (the "Content") in any marketing materials. This includes but is not limited to:
- Television
- Print advertising
- Websites and internet content
- Videos
- Product merchandising
Any promotional materials related to the Angler's endorsement of Hobie products
Hobie’s rights to use past, present, and future video and still content featuring the Angler are perpetual and will not expire, remaining valid indefinitely.
