Growing up in Central Florida, I spent much of my time on the water, mainly along the Intracoastal on the East Coast. I didn’t get into freshwater fishing until 2020 during the COVID pandemic. Living near three lakes, I bought a cheap rod and reel and started fishing from the bank. I was instantly hooked but quickly realized I wanted to get off the shore.
In 2022, I purchased my first kayak—a Hobie Pro Angler 14 with 360 drive. Being on the water and immersed in nature has had a huge impact on my life, and the 360 drive allows me to reach places others can’t. That same year, I discovered kayak tournaments and began competing in two local trails.
I love the competition, camaraderie, and constant learning. I’ve had some successes, including becoming the first female to win a Florida Bass Nation Kayak Series event and finishing 6th in their state championship. I’ve also competed in national events with Hobie B.O.S., Bassmaster, and USA Fishing. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me.
